Carson Crain

Carson grew up sailing in Northeast Harbor, ME and has spent the last 10 years focused on sailing fast high-performance boats.  Leading up to the 2016 Olympics, he competed for Team USA in the men’s windsurfer division at numerous world championships, Olympic test events, and the 2015 Pan American Games. In summer 2016, Carson founded an all-American sailing team, Next Generation USA, for the 2017 Red Bull Youth America’s Cup.  On the water he helmed the foiling 45ft catamaran and off the water managed the day-to-day business of running a professional team.  In 2018, Carson briefly returned to Olympic windsurfing before shifting focus toward professional sailing opportunities. He joined Stars+Stripes USA for a training camp in early 2019 and trained with the team in preparation for their victory at the 2020 World Match Race Championship.  In summer 2020, he decided to pursue a spot on Team USA in the mixed foiling multihull division for the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games.  As an athlete, Carson enjoys combining the physical effort with data driven innovation to get the absolute most out of any everyday of sailing.
